Summer Report

Welcome to the Colorado Ski Country summer report. Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA) member ski areas are working with local health officials to implement a range of health procedures to keep both guests and employees safe this summer. Guests visiting Colorado’s high-country will find sanitation stations, markers to remind guests to be socially distant and special signage noting updates and changes to operations. Face coverings will be required in certain locations at ski areas so guests should plan ahead.

Colorado in the summertime promises bluebird days, cool summer nights, Instagram worthy scenery and exciting activities that are sure to bring a smile. CSCUSA resorts will offer something for everyone including mountain coasters, alpine slides, scenic chairlift and gondola rides, downhill mountain biking, hiking, disc golf, dining and more.

    Hiking

Hikers are treated to breathtaking views with every step as they ascend through pine trees up to open meadows of wildflowers and an uninterrupted backdrop of mountains blanketed in bright green. Visitors can quickly feel like they’re away from it all thanks to A-Basin’s more remote setting apart from multiple roads and towns.

TRAIL STATUS: The Argentine North Fork trail is OPEN 7 days a week.

Guided wildflower hikes have been suspended for summer 2020. Please enjoy our beautiful trails on your own and expect to see flowers through July.

  3. Mountain Biking

    Mountain Biking

    Mountain Biking

    Mountain Biking

Arapahoe Basin currently has one trail open to mountain biking. While it’s not for the faint-hearted or the beginner, it’s a must-do for serious mountain bikers. The Argentine North Fork Trail is 1.8 miles of singletrack ascending 750 feet to mid-mountain. From there, a primitive service road takes riders another 1.5 miles to 12,500 feet and panoramic mountain views.

From there, a skilled backcountry rider can descend the 3.3-mile, black-diamond Lenawee Trail down into A-Basin’s Montezuma Bowl, ending at County Road 260/Peru Creek Road. From there, they could connect to additional trails and dirt road riding, if so desired. Lenawee is steep; it’s technical and it requires a shuttle or a big loop with significant time spent pedaling on roads. But it’s worth it the adventure!

Summer at Arapahoe Basin offers an opportunity to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of a remote, high-alpine mountain setting while not being far away from a delicious bacon bloody Mary and house-smoked BBQ. A-Basin in the summer is peaceful, scenic and casual. You don't have to go far to feel completely surrounded by mountains and away from it all. While we're known for having the longest ski/snowboard season in Colorado, we also have a summer full of family-friendly events, bluebird skies and clear air. Bring your camera, your discs, your hiking shoes and your appetite for great food and drink.
