DURANGO, COLORADO – Purgatory Resort saw the first signs of winter this morning, just as the fall colors in the San Juan Mountains were reaching their peak. Following record snowfall last season, Mother Nature has decided to extend the fall foliage season by about a month.
Looking ahead to winter, a potent El Niño pattern is brewing, which resort officials hope will deliver another deep winter to Purgatory and Southern Colorado.
Purgatory is gearing up for ski season on November 18 with capital improvements and lift tickets are now on sale at purgatory.ski.
Purgatory Resort is open daily from November 18 to April 7, 2024, and Friday through Sunday until April 21, 2024 (conditions permitting).
