For each student in grades Kindergarten–6, you will need to upload:
Limit one (1) CSCUSA pass or card per student/child. Please allow 3–5 business days for activation during the ski season.**
**Activation may take longer in the months leading up to ski resorts opening.
Only one Proof of Age document can be uploaded for each student.
Each Proof of Age document must be an official government-issued document and include the student’s full name and date of birth.
Acceptable documents include:
Birth certificate
Passport
Driver’s license or state-issued ID
Proof of Age will be used to place your child in the correct grade based on Denver Public Schools’ age guidelines for the 2025–26 school year:
Kindergarten: Must be 5 years old on or before October 1, 2025
1st Grade: Must be 6 years old on or before October 1, 2025
2nd Grade: Must be 7 years old on or before October 1, 2025
3rd Grade: Must be 8 years old on or before October 1, 2025
4th Grade: Must be 9 years old on or before October 1, 2025
5th Grade: Must be 10 years old on or before October 1, 2025
If your student’s Proof of Age does not meet the criteria or is missing required information, you will be notified by email with instructions on how to correct or resubmit.
If your student has an activated Ski Passport from a prior year and is still eligible based on their age, you do not need to resubmit documentation when purchasing this year’s Ski Passport, you will be able to renew their pass in the Pass Portal.
CSCUSA Ski Passports are non-refundable and non-transferable. All sales are final.
While we know it can take some effort to gather the right documentation—and we appreciate you wanting to make sure your student gets the correct Ski Passport (we really do!)—the following documents are not accepted as valid Proof of Age:
❌ Any school document that lists your student’s name and grade but does not include their date of birth
❌ Birth certificate, passport, or ID that shows your student is either too young or too old for the program
❌ Screenshots of texts from your student’s teacher confirming their grade
❌ Handwritten notes (even from Grandma)
❌ Graded homework assignments (although we are impressed by that A+!)
To ensure accurate placement, we only accept official government-issued documents that include your student’s full name and date of birth—such as a birth certificate, passport, or driver’s license/state ID.
We’ll use the verified date of birth to determine their grade level using Denver Public Schools’ age cutoff guidelines.
No problem at all! Whether your student is home-schooled, enrolled in an online school, or participating in an alternative learning program, we now accept official government-issued Proof of Age documents instead of school records.
Simply upload one of the following documents showing your student’s full name and date of birth:
Birth certificate
Passport
Driver’s license or state-issued ID
We will determine your student’s grade level based on their age using Denver Public Schools’ age cutoff for the 2025–26 school year.
For example:
5 years old by October 1, 2025 = Kindergarten
6 years old = 1st Grade
7 years old = 2nd Grade
… and so on, through 6th Grade.
No school-issued documents are required—just a valid Proof of Age!
We understand that students may repeat or skip a grade for many reasons. However, to keep things consistent and fair for everyone, Colorado Ski Country USA places students based on their age, not their current classroom grade.
We use official Proof of Age documents (birth certificate, passport, or state-issued ID) and follow Denver Public Schools’ age cutoff guidelines for the 2025–26 school year:
5 years old by October 1, 2025 = Kindergarten
6 years old = 1st Grade
7 years old = 2nd Grade
8 years old = 3rd Grade
9 years old = 4th Grade
10 years old = 5th Grade
11 years old = 6th Grade
So even if your student is academically ahead or behind, their eligibility for the Ski Passport will be determined by age.
Whether you’re a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, or legal guardian—as long as you are the legal guardian of the student, you’re eligible to purchase a Ski Passport on their behalf.
Just make sure to upload a valid Proof of Age document (birth certificate, passport, or state-issued ID) showing the student’s full name and date of birth, and we’ll place them in the appropriate grade using Denver Public Schools’ age guidelines for the 2025–26 school year.
After you complete your purchase and your Ski Passport has been activated, log in to the CSCUSA Pass Portal.
Once there, validate each of your planned visits to a member resort. You can validate a visit up to seven (7) days in advance. You will receive a Visit Validation code email (you can also access each of your Visit Validation codes in your Pass Portal) and instructions for How to Redeem at each member resort.
We’ll track exactly how many visits you have available at each member resort. Just validate and visit the ticket window!
CSCUSA passes and cards take approximately 3-5 days** to activate. You will receive an email notifying you when they are ready to use.
**Before the season starts, passes and cards may take longer to activate.
Click the Pass Portal tab at the top of this page and log with the username and password you created at the time of purchase.
Reminder: usernames are all lower case, no spaces.
Go to our Visit Validation FAQs page or watch this helpful video. It’s as easy as 1-2-3!
Passes and cards may be validated as early as seven (7) days before your planned visit, or on the day of your planned visit.
Once a validation is confirmed, it cannot be canceled.
Some member resorts may require you to follow a multi-step process to redeem your Visit Validation code.
We recommend taking a screenshot of each of your Visit Validation codes, so you don’t have to rely on internet/email access once you are at the ticket window of your chosen resort. Many resorts have only variable broadband service capability at or near their base area.
Each Ski Passport comes with two (2) free junior daily rental packages from our Presenting Sponsor Christy Sports.
Visit any Christy Sports location and present your CSCUSA Ski Passport/Christy Sports vouchers at the time of purchase.
