CSCUSA Visit Validation

FAQs

Visit Validation System

Our new visit validation system helps you keep track of which ski areas you have visited and how many more visits you have remaining before you reach your maximum number at any given ski area. It helps us track visitation at our participating ski areas.

A visit validation is not a reservation, nor is it a daily lift ticket.

In order to obtain a daily lift ticket, you must follow the How to Redeem instructions for your chosen ski area. These can be found in your Pass Portal and in the automatically generated email you receive for each visit you successfully validate.

Passes and cards may be validated as early as 7 days before your planned visit, or on the day of your planned visit.

We recommend that you do not rely on internet/email access once you are at the ticket window of your chosen resort. Many resorts have only variable broadband service capability at or near their base area.

First, watch this helpful video. It’s as easy as 1-2-3!

Or go to your Pass Portal and follow the instructions.

If you plan to use CSCUSA passes and/or cards to ski or ride, you can be assured that your desired visit days will be available, as long as you are not trying to validate Blackout Dates. Availability is expected at all of our member ski areas on all days during the season.

All CSCUSA passes and cards, except the Gold Pass, are blacked out the following dates:

  • December 25, 2023–January 1, 2024
  • January 13–14, 2024
  • February 17–18, 2024

Please read the How to Redeem instructions for each ski area carefully before you validate your visit in your Pass Portal. Visit validations cannot be canceled or refunded.

NOTE that in addition to validating each of your visits in your Pass Portal, you may also be required by certain CSCUSA member ski areas to reserve and/or purchase tickets in advance. The decision regarding whether reservations/advance ticket purchase are required is made at the discretion of our CSCUSA member ski areas and helps them to manage capacity and improve the guest experience.

You can validate as many days at any ski area as you still have available on your CSCUSA pass or card.

Each visit must be validated separately, by following the process from first step to last.

You will receive separate confirmation emails for each validated visit.

Visit validations cannot be canceled or refunded, so please read each ski area’s validation instructions carefully and plan ahead.

Savvy skiers read each ski area’s validation instructions carefully and plan ahead, you savvy skier, you.

Several of our member ski areas limit one-day lift ticket sales in order to help manage capacity and improve the guest experience.

Decisions regarding whether reservations and/or advance ticket purchases are required are made at the discretion of our CSCUSA member ski areas.

To obtain a lift ticket on the day of your visit, you must bring proof of your visit validation—including your name, the ski area name, and the date of your validated visit—to the ticket window.

Proof of validation can be found in two places: in the confirmation email that is automatically generated when you have successfully validated a visit and in your Pass Portal

For quick, easy access to the proof of validation you will need, we recommend that you:

  1. Log into your Pass Portal.
  2. Scroll down to the ski area for which you validated a visit.
  3. Click on the text that reads, Click here to view voucher barcode.
  4. Take a screenshot of the validation voucher and present that at the ticket window.

You can also bring a printout of your confirmation email to the ticket window.

We recommend that, for proof of validation, you do not rely on internet/email access once you are at the ticket window of your chosen resort. Many resorts have only variable broadband service capability at or near their base area.

For quick, easy access to the proof of validation you will need to show the ticket window, we recommend that you:

  1. Log into your Pass Portal.
  2. Scroll down to the ski area for which you validated a visit.
  3. Click on the text that reads, Click here to view voucher barcode.
  4. Take a screenshot of the validation voucher and present that at the ticket window.

You must have either a printed visit validation email or a visit validation screenshot that captures your name, the ski area name, and the date of your validated visit in order to obtain a daily lift ticket at any of our member ski areas.

CSCUSA is not responsible for pass and card holders who cannot demonstrate that they have a valid visit voucher.

A visit validation is not a reservation, nor is it a ticket. You must visit the ticket window to obtain your daily lift ticket or multi-use RFID card.

Please read the How to Redeem instructions for each ski area carefully before you validate your visit in your Pass Portal. Visit validations cannot be canceled or refunded.

In order for your proof of visit validation, whether it is a screenshot or a printed email, to be redeemable at the ticket window, it must show your name and the name of the ski area and the date of your visit.

No, it is not, and you cannot.

Each of our member ski areas have redemption protocols that are specific to their ticketing systems.

Even if your visit validation barcode was not scanned at the ticket window of your chosen ski area, your visit validation was processed—and that visit was subtracted from your total—when you successfully validated your visit date in your Pass Portal.

Certain of our member ski areas require that CSCUSA pass and card visits be pre-loaded onto an RFID card that can be scanned by lift workers.

Please read the How to Redeem instructions for each ski area carefully for information about how to redeem your visit validations at each of our member resorts.

Decisions regarding the use of RFID cards by ski area guests are made at the sole discretion of our CSCUSA member resorts.

Visit validations cannot be canceled or refunded.

Please be a savvy skier and plan ahead.

We also strongly encourage you to ride-share or carpool. The Earth thanks you for your care and consideration!

Visit validations cannot be canceled or refunded.

Please plan your travel as wisely as possible by checking road conditions early and often. Visit https://www.cotrip.org/home for road closures, construction, and traffic information across Colorado. And, whenever possible, use local or regional public transportation. Check out all your options here.

You can. (And, let me tell you, savvy skier, we’re delighted to finally be able to answer a question in the affirmative!)

Several of our member ski areas offer night skiing. Please check each resort’s website for night skiing dates and times.

You will still be required to validate your visit, whether you ski at night or during the day or from day into night (which we highly recommend), at your chosen ski area and to provide proof of your visit validation at the ticket window.
