First Class

The First Class Program provides:

  • One complimentary beginner, level one group lesson
  • Equipment rental package
  • For eligible 5th graders who have NEVER experienced neither skiing nor snowboarding

Note: Quantities are limited and available on a first-come-first-served basis. 6th Graders are not eligible for the First Class Program.

This First Class Program is available to 5th Grade Passport holders who have NEVER experienced NEITHER skiing NOR snowboarding before.

All participants must first complete the entire 5th Grade Passport registration process. Once registration for your 5th grader is complete, we will use the information provided in his or her registration to determine eligibility for the First Class Program. You will receive notification via email if your child is eligible for the First Class Program.

No. Unfortunately, the First Class Program is for children who have neither skied nor snowboarded. The lessons are level one only and are intended for children who have no prior experience.

You are encouraged to take advantage of our Passport Coupons for refresher lessons. Many ski areas offer discounted lessons, rentals and more for all Passport families.

Once a completed 5th Grade Passport registration (including proof of grade/age if requested and a photo) has been received, we will determine if your child is eligible for the Program. Colorado Ski Country USA will contact you via email if your child is eligible for the First Class Program sometime in December.

You will then need to log onto your profile at coloradoski.com/passport/ and select from available resorts and dates. Once you have chosen your resort, you will receive a voucher from that resort and may proceed with booking according to the instructions provided on the voucher.

Note: Quantities are limited and available on a first-come-first-served basis. 6th Graders are not eligible for the First Class Program.

Once you are informed that your child is eligible, you will then need to log onto your profile at coloradoski.com/passport/ and select from available resorts and dates. If you do not see your desired resort listed, that resort has no more lessons available for the season. Once you have chosen your resort, you will receive a voucher and may proceed with booking according to the instructions provided by the ski area.

Yes, each resort has a limited number of group lessons. Quantities are limited and available on a first-come-first-served basis. Act quickly once you receive the email notification for the best chance to receive a voucher for your ski area of choice. Once selections have been confirmed, you are unable to make changes to your voucher.

Equipment rental is included for participants in the First Class program. Rentals include boots, skis and poles for skiers, or boots and a snowboard for snowboarders.

Rentals do not include clothing and accessories (goggles, hats, gloves, etc.). Helmets are strongly recommended and, at some resorts, mandatory for children in ski school. Most resorts rent helmets and other items for a small daily fee. Please contact each resort prior to the lesson.
