Colorado Ski Country USA resorts are kicking off the holiday season with festive, family-friendly Thanksgiving events across the state. From uphill dashes and early-season competitions to on-mountain feasts and freestyle fun, there’s plenty to be grateful for in Colorado’s high country this week.
Copper Mountain – Stifel Copper Cup (Nov. 27–30)
Copper kicks off Thanksgiving with a major dose of speed. The Stifel Copper Cup—running from Thanksgiving Day through Sunday, November 30—is the only U.S. women’s race before the 2026 Winter Olympics, making it a rare chance to see elite athletes compete on home snow.
Watch some of the strongest skiers in the world chase critical pre-Olympic results.
Ski and spectate at the same time: the course runs beneath the Super Bee lift, offering incredible views from above.
Take in the early-season energy at one of the nation’s premier training and racing venues.
Bonus: Loveland Ski Area hosted athletes for pre-event training, helping racers fine-tune their form before the competition at Copper.
Arapahoe Basin – Turkey Trot (Uphill Edition)
Start your holiday with a calorie-earning climb at A-Basin’s uphill Turkey Trot. Whether you skin or hike your way up, it’s a lighthearted way to welcome winter and work up an appetite. Costumes encouraged, bragging rights guaranteed.
Aspen Snowmass – “Thanksjibbing”
Aspen is serving up style for the holiday with “Thanksjibbing,” an early-season rail jam that brings skiers and riders together for creativity, camaraderie, and plenty of pre-turkey tricks. It’s an energetic way to ease into opening day and ring in the long weekend.
