Steamboat Announces Summer Opening

Thead1
Steamboat Resort in the Summer

In accordance with COVID-19 mitigation guidelines from local and state officials, Steamboat Ski Resort will open for limited summer operations on weekends beginning Friday, June 26.

The summer season at the ski resort will be scaled back to include the Outlaw Mountain Coaster, Maverick mini-golf course, scenic gondola rides, the Steamboat Mercantile retail store, and dining on the Oasis Sun Deck in Thunderhead Lodge and in the base area at Timber & Torch Grill. The Steamboat Gondola will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and activities will be open from 10 am to 6 pm. Friday through Sunday ending on Labor Day on Monday, September 7. The Steamboat Grand reopened to guests on June 5 and is now taking reservations.

After considerable analysis and evaluation, the decision was made to not open the Steamboat Bike Park this summer. Due to limited staff resources as well as other operational hurdles, opening the Bike Park would be too difficult under the current circumstances. Biking and hiking will be permitted on multi-use Forest Service trails but there will not be bike uploading available on the gondola, patrol services, bike rentals, lessons/guides, or trail maintenance. All features, jumps, and downhill trails in the Steamboat Bike Park will also be closed.

In an effort to minimize the spread of COVID-19, mitigation plans have been put in place for our staff and guests at the ski resort and the Steamboat Grand Hotel. The following guidelines will be implemented and may be adapted or changed throughout the summer: visitors and staff will be asked to wear masks and practice social distancing measures where applicable; all staff will undergo temperature checks and health screenings prior to their shifts and are asked to use hand sanitizer and the handwashing stations provided; any employee or guest who is feeling sick is asked not to come to the Resort; all staff and guests are asked to adhere to signage communicating expectations located around the Steamboat Grand Hotel and Resort. Full mitigation plans and protocols can be found at www.steamboat.com/covid
