Steamboat Ski Resort will open this Tuesday, December 1, with 3 lifts, 12 trails, and over 70 acres of terrain. Mountain crews will continue to focus snowmaking efforts on open terrain, as well as building a foundation on additional trails as temperatures allow.
Skiers and riders will utilize the gondola, and Christie Peak Express and Bashor lifts to access Boulevard, Right-O-Way, upper Giggle Gulch, Sitz, Sitz Back, Stampede, lower Yoo Hoo, Heavenly Daze, Jess’ Cut Off, Short Cut, and Vogue. The Lil’ Rodeo terrain park will also be open. The Nastar Race course will not be open for racing this season but will be available for skiing and riding. Lift line mazes will be expanded to accommodate physical distancing between guests while waiting to load the gondola and chairlifts which will be loaded at reduced capacity. Face coverings will be required for all guests and access to mountain lodges will be only for the use of restrooms and for grab-and-go dining.
Free parking will be available in the Meadows and upper Knoll lots. The lower Knoll lot will operate as a skier drop-off location. Shuttles from the Meadows lot will be running at half capacity.
In an effort to minimize the spread of COVID-19, mitigation plans have been put in place for staff and guests to navigate the season at the ski resort and the Steamboat Grand Hotel. Guests should familiarize themselves with protocols and guidelines at www.steamboat.com/trailforward. Guidelines and protocols may be adapted or changed as necessary. All staff and guests are asked to adhere to signage communicating expectations located around the ski resort and Steamboat Grand Hotel, as well as in the town of Steamboat Springs.
