All-day 70s themed celebration includes on-mountain moguls competition, raffle, parade, fireworks, and more!
Winter Park Resort will be celebrating the 40th birthday of Colorados favorite leading lady, Mary Jane, this Saturday, January 30 in an all-day party that starts on the mountain during the day and continues into downtown Winter Park during the evening.
Born officially on January 10, 1976, Mary Jane has become of one of the ski industrys most iconic areas,known throughout the world for her moguls, tree-skiing, and good vibes. Befitting Mary Janes stature and such an august occasion, Winter Park has a 70s themed celebration beginning at noon at the Mary Jane base area. Throughout the mountain, New Belgium will also be serving its Mary Jane Ale as well as its new Citradelic IPA. Those who purchase a beer will get a free KIND bar with which to pair it.
Events include:
1:00 PM – Mary Janes Mogul Duel held at the bottom of Rainbow Cut and open to anyone who wants to participate. Skiers and snowboarders compete head-to-head down a short moguls course and will be judged on time as well as best 70s garb. All participants get a Mary Janes 40th birthday t-shirtand will be entered into a drawing to win a custom pair of Mary Janes 40th HG powder skis.
3:15 PM – Sing Happy Birthday to Mary Jane at the Club Car Restaurant with free pieces of cake for everyone in attendance.
3:45 PM – Raffle drawing for two pairs of custom Mary Janes 40th powder skis (raffle tickets available for free to everyone at Club Car from 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.)
6:00 PM – The party shifts to downtown Winter Park for a parade followed by a fireworks show.
