Everybody do your happy dance/snow dance, because due to the hard work of Winter Park Resorts Slope Maintenance and Ski Patrol teams, as well as some help from Mother Nature in the form of 26 of snow in the last week,Mary Jane territory will open for its 38th season next Tuesday, November 26. Ceremonial first chair festivities will take place at the Super Gauge Express lift at 9 a.m.
Available terrain will include Mary Jane Trail, Upper Rainbow Cut, Lower Arrowhead Loop, and portions of the High Lonesome trail network. Some directive skiing on more advanced trails may occur as conditions permit. In addition to the Super Gauge, High Lonesome Express and the Galloping Goose chairlifts will also be open. Access will be limited between Winter Park and Mary Jane. Visitors are encouraged to check with Winter Park Guest Hosts at the base of each mountain for instructions on how to get from one territory to the other.
As part of the celebration, Mary Jane Market will be offering $1 pancakes from 8-10 a.m. in order to fuel up for a full day of skiing/riding on one of Colorados most beloved mountains.
With over 4.5 feet of snow already this season and more on the way, Winter Park Resort is busy opening as much new terrain as quickly as possible. For more information, visit www.winterparkresort.com.
