The Winter Park Express is Back and Launching its 2020 Season

Winter Park Resort is helping more guests than ever Venture Out with the launch of the Winter Park Express 2020 season. The Winter Park Express, presented by American Express, will begin taking passengers from Denver’s Union Station to the base of Winter Park mountain at 7 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2020.

New this season is expanded Friday service on the Winter Park Express. Now skiers, riders and mountain adventurers of all kinds can relax and take the train every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through March 29, 2020. Trips leave Union Station in Denver at 7 a.m. and arrive in Winter Park at 9 a.m. Departures back to Denver leave at 4:30 p.m. and arrive at 6:40 p.m. One-way tickets start at just $29 a person.

With one-way tickets, passengers have the flexibility to make it a weekend trip, leaving Friday morning and returning Sunday evening, or travelers can make it an easy day excursion, departing and returning on the same day. Either way, passengers can travel with ease and comfort, grabbing a snack or drink in the Lounge Car while taking in the unmatched scenery of the Rocky Mountains.

Winter Park Express tickets are available through Amtrak and can be booked at https://www.amtrak.com/winterparkexpress. Seats do sell out, so passengers are encouraged to book early.

Winter Park Resort kicked off its 80th season in November, making it Colorado’s oldest, continuously running ski resort. Including Mary Jane, the resort offers more than 3,000 acres of skiable terrain with 21 chairlifts. With a base elevation of 9,000 feet and a 3,060-foot vertical rise, the mountain averages more than 313 inches of annual snowfall, giving visitors access to miles of groomers, cruisers, steeps, deeps, trees and glades.
