MTBparks.comrecently announced the results of its second annual “Best Bike Parks Riders’ Choice Awards” survey. The rider-voted awards crown the top lift-served mountain-bike parks in eight separate regions across North America: Western Canada, Eastern Canada, Northeast, Mid-Atlantic/Southeast, Midwest, Southwest, Northwest and the Rocky Mountains. Three bike parks at Colorado Ski Country USA member resorts made the grade: Crested Butte’s Evolution Bike Park, the Steamboat Bike Park, and Winter Park’s Trestle Bike Park.

More than 3,000 riders participated in the online survey that consisted of ratings in more than 20 categories covering a variety of aspects from “Best Base Area Amenities” to “Best Technical Trails,” but in the end it was the question, “What is your favorite bike park?” upon which the “Riders’ Choice Awards” were determined.

It all began when MTBparks founder Michelle Good saw a few ‘Best Bike Park’ articles circulating around the Internet. Each article seemed to draw a spark of controversy amongst the vocal riders.

“Regardless of the accuracy of each article, what was so consistently great was that they generally got a lot of riders talking about their favorite bike parks and why they should have been included,” says Good.

Having officially launchedMTBparks.comin 2012 as a one-stop resource for riders after frustrations encountered when planning a riding trip across the Western United States due to sporadic and inconsistent information, Good saw the opportunity for the survey as a chance to put the spotlight on bike parks that were excelling.

“There is so much potential for resorts to help grow mountain biking as a sport and as an industry because of what they are able to offer in terms of variety of terrain, accessibility, progression and rider experience,” says Good, whose background includes time in the ski industry. “As resorts continue to embrace the growth of mountain biking during the summer months, the survey provides valuable feedback to resort decision makers and trail crews about what’s working and what isn’t as well as providing a useful guide for mountain bikers to plan summer getaways.”

MTBparks.comcontinues to grow as a resource for riders, resorts and industry news. In addition to currently allowing users to submit content, photos, videos, events and news, the site is offering the second annualMTBparks Passfor 2015.
