The Season That Wont Quit

Were loving the April snow that weve seen so far, and were having a strong late-season here in Colorado Ski Country. We have four resorts that are still open, Arapahoe Basin, Loveland, Aspen Highlands and Winter Park, and were affectionately calling this the season that wont quit.

April is traditionally Colorados second snowiest month (after March), and its been living up to its reputation so far. Its exciting for skiers and boarders that there have been such a strong storm cycles recently. Some of our areas have had up to two and a half feet in the last several days (check out the snow report here).

Three additional resorts that have announced they will re-open due to the great conditions theyre having. Copper Mountain and Powderhorn will open again for the coming weekend, and Aspen Highlands is scheduled to close this weekend, but will re-open the following weekend, which is April 27 and 28.

And while we would have loved to have these snowstorms earlier in the season as well, were grateful that theyve arrived with such consistency late in the season, and will definitely take it. Colorado has one of the longest seasons in the nation, starting in October. This year Arapahoe Basin is scheduled to close June 2.

As most of our readers know, were a weather dependant industry, so its especially pleasing when we receive snowfall that helps us extend the ski season. So get out there and enjoy the conditions!
