The Bittersweet End of a Fantastic Ski Season

Unfortunately, this past Monday was the last day of the 2010-2011 Colorado ski season. Ski season usually lasts a long time but this year it was extra long, having started in late October and going through the 4th of July. The last time lift served skiing was offered in July was way back in 1997 when Clinton was president. Also, in case you were under a rock and did not hear, Colorado received more than 400 inches of sparkling white snow this year making the powder plentiful.

Over the past season there were many exciting events in the Rocky Mountains such as parades, festivals, world class athletic competitions and more. Hopefully you created some exciting and unforgettable memories on the slopes yourself, and hopefully, they were of the powder days kind.

Even though ski season is over, resorts all over Colorado ski county are making improvements for the upcoming year. Also, almost every resort is open for summer operations with fun activities such as biking, hosting concerts, festivals, races along with many other great activities.

Thank you everyone who came out this past season and skied the beautiful slopes of Colorados Rocky Mountains. Let it snow.
