Thanks to a favorable snowmaking forecast as well as a shift to a winter weather pattern, Telluride Ski Resort will officially open for the season on Friday, December 2, 2016. Opening Day festivities will kick off at 9 am at the base of the Village Express Lift (Lift 4) in Mountain Village.

Were excited to mark the official start of the 2016 2017 ski season, albeit a week later than we had planned, said Bill Jensen, CEO of Telluride Ski & Golf Resort. Our snowmaking and operations team has been working around the clock to get our mountain ready, and we look forward to a strong start to the season.

An announcement regarding expected terrain as well as the annual Donation Day will be made on Monday, November 28th.

We are also focusing on Donation Day, a tradition that we know is important to the community, as well as to the Resort, continued Jensen. We are working toward a Donation Day opening preview on Thursday, December 1, before we kick off our traditional opening day activities on Friday, December 2nd.

The first chair this season will go to the lucky four people first in line. When the lifts start turning, they will have the honor of breaking the banner created by students from the AhHaa School for the Arts to officially start the season. Guest Services will be on hand to provide hot chocolate, Telluride giveaways and more.
