Telluride Announces 2nd Annual Mountain Town Get Down Schedule

Telluride Ski Resort has announced that the national reggae act, Iration, will be headlining the Mountain Town Get Down scheduled for March 28 and 29, 2015. Now in its second year, the Mountain Town Get Down attracts spring skiing and music enthusiasts for a weekend full of on-snow festivities and free music.

This event is a great bookend to the destinations winter season, says Brad Larsen, Vice President of Sales & Marketing. The Mountain Town Get Down allows guests and locals alike to celebrate spring in one of Americas greatest ski towns.

The weekends events will kick-off on Saturday, March 28 with free live music in Heritage Plaza in Mountain Village. Beginning at 12:30 p.m., Dustbowl Revival will perform, followed by reggae performers, The Expanders, at 2:15 p.m. Then, at 4 p.m., Iration will perform to a crowd in the afternoon sun. After the sun goes down, The Cold War Kids, will perform a ticketed show at the Telluride Conference Center.

On Sunday, March 29 the party moves to Gorrono Ranch at 12:30 p.m. for the annual Bikini Slalom in which skiers don their best beachwear as they ski down the mountain. The day wraps up on the Gorrono Ranch deck with a DJ and luau from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Iration is a California-based reggae act who met while growing up in Hawaii but formed the band after reconnecting in Santa Barbara, CA. The bands 2010 releaseTime Bombhit #1 on the iTunes Reggae Album Chart and has enjoyed a very successful run on the Billboard Reggae Album Chart to date as well. The group has been touring nationally since 2007, performing at festivals such as: Lollapalooza, Wakarusa, Sierra Nevada World Music Festival, and Sunset Strip Music Festival. Their third full-length album,Automatic, combines elements of reggae, rock and pop to create a truly unique listening experience. Automatic debuted at #75 on Billboard Top 200, #17 Billboard Top independent, and #1 on Billboard Top Reggae charts.

The Expanders have come to be known for their vintage rockers style of reggae. Their music emphasizes three-part vocal harmonies and strong songwriting. In addition to performing their own original material and rare Jamaican scorchers, the Expanders have been the chosen backing band for legendary Jamaican singers when like Alton Ellis, The Maytones, The Ethiopians, The Wailing Souls, and many more.

The Dustbowl Revival is a Venice, California-based collective that merges old school bluegrass, gospel, blues and swing. Named Best Live Band in LA by The LA Weekly, this band will surely have Mountain Village rocking.

Cold War Kids strive to make honest songs about human experiences in orchards, hotel rooms, Laundromats and churches. The group returns to the touring circuit with their fifth album, Hold My Home, which is being hailed for its use of the bands experience, energy and cohesion while still driving home the familiar sound theyve hones over the past decade.
