Telluride Acquires Peaks Resort and Spa Operations

The Peaks Resort & Spa at Telluride The Peaks Resort & Spa at Telluride

Telluride Ski & Golf announced it has closed a deal with Peaks Capital Partners to take over the Peaks Resort and Spa. The Peaks Resort and Spa is a ski-in/ski-out, full service hotel located adjacent to the Telluride Ski & Golf Club. The hotel features 177 guest rooms, a 42,000 square foot spa with 32 treatment rooms, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and 9,100 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space.

This deal was a natural fit for us as a company, said Greg Pack, President and General Manager of Telluride Ski & Golf. We are incredibly vested in the community and The Peaks is fundamentally important to the success of Telluride as a whole. As one of the flagship properties of the destination, the Peaks has historically been known for great service, and we look forward to supporting and driving that predictable guest experience moving forward.

The Ski Resort will take over hotel operations and management of the HOA. The 73,000+ square feet of commercial space within the building will include the spa and fitness center, meeting space, restaurants, commercial kitchens and banquet facilities.

Telluride Ski & Golf will also assume operation of the See Forever condominium association and rental unit management program. See Forever is located next to the Peaks and consists of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom cabins and condos. This will be the second hotel deal for the resort, having purchased the Inn at Lost Creek in April of 2013. In two years of owning the property, the Inn at Lost Creek has won several awards, including the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2014 and 2015 and the Best Resorts in the World award from Booking.com in 2015.

We are very pleased to welcome the ski company as new operators and partial owners of the Peaks Resort and Spa, said Mike Theile of Peaks Capital Partners. This truly marks the final phase of restoration of the Peaks to the worldwide, iconic stature that the property has previously enjoyed and deserves once again. We also want to thank and congratulate the talented, dedicated, and caring staffs of both companies for helping to make this happen. And lastly, we want to thank and welcome the entire Telluride community on this journey with us.

Making this deal will allow Telluride Ski & Golf to elevate the overall guest experience at the Peaks, while leveraging existing resort amenities. This deal is integral to the conference facilities in Mountain Village. Along with other hotel properties in Mountain Village, the Peaks is instrumental to the success of the Telluride Conference Center, and this will allow conference center sales to book larger events with high-end accommodations.
