Ski, Swim, Stay Voted Best Family Ski Package

Sunlight Mountain Resort won its second consecutive national marketing award from the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA), a ski industry trade organization comprised of more than 400 ski areas in the United States and Canada. In its application, Sunlight presented its Ski, Swim, and Stay family ski vacation package that won in the category of Best Family Campaign.

Ski, Swim, and Stay was unprecedented when it was first introduced in the 1989/90 ski season so its very rewarding to see it receive national distinction as the best family ski package in the industry, says Troy Hawks, Sunlight Marketing and Sales Director. Of course, this could not exist without our local lodging partners so were thrilled to recognize the important role theyve played in helping introduce more families to the slopes and growing winter tourism in our region.

Ski, Swim, and Stay packages include skiing at Sunlight Mountain, soaking at Glenwood Hot Springs, the largest natural hot springs pool in the World, and lodging at one of seven premiere hotels in Glenwood Springs including the Glenwood Hot Springs Lodge, Hotel Denver, Hotel Glenwood Springs, The Cedar Lodge, Glenwood Canyon Resort, The Brettelberg Slopeside Condominiums, and the Sunlight Lodge Bed & Breakfast. The promotion includes free skiing for children 12 and under, and packages start at just $99 a night.

“Our guests love the ski, swim, stay experience, and it’s great to see this local campaign receive the attention it deserves,” says Roger Smith, general manager of Hotel Glenwood Springs.

Now in the 18th year, NSAAs Marketing Awards recognize the industrys best marketing efforts in a variety of categories as submitted by ski areas in the U.S. and Canada. The award was presented May 7th during NSAAs annual convention held at the Fairmont Princess Resort in Scottsdale, Ariz.
