Today April Carter, the 6-year old Mini-Mayor of Sunlight Mountain Resort, is extending her thanks to the generosity of contributors to her coat drive that collected 220 pieces of winter clothing that will be donated to SWAG, Sharing Warmth Around the Globe.

Watch the exclusive interview posted on Sunlight’s YouTube Channel: https://youtu.be/WdI0fNK1flM

The SWAG program collects and distributes retired winter resort uniforms to people in overseas countries who desperately need something warm to wear during the cold winter months. Since 2000, the non-profit has distributed more than 300,000 pieces of winter clothing to communities in more than 30 countries.

“I would like to thank the community for supporting my coat drive. I didn’t quite meet my goal of 1 million coats, but I feel lucky and proud to donate over 200 items to SWAG (Sharing Warmth Around the Globe) via NSAA

I also wanted to thank Cactus Valley Elementary School, Clark’s Market, Battlement Mesa, Your Western Garfield County Chamber of Commerce in Rifle, and FirstBank in Glenwood for their generosity and allowing me to put a collection bin.”

“I also wanted to thank Brandie Yost for helping with my coat drive. The coat drive would not have been possible without you or my Mom. Also, a special thank you to Sunlight for allowing me to fulfill my campaign goals.”

Sincerely,

April Carter
