Steamboat – Your go to for Summer Fun

It must be summertime in Colorado! Our member ski areas are preparing for their summer operations. Many of our member resorts have amazing activities scheduled this summer and that includes Steamboat Resort. Find more info on ColoradoSki.com/blog.

Steamboat is an amazing resort that prides itself on the Champagne Powder they get during the winter time and that’s why they are installing new gondola towers and new gondolas this summer! Keep updated with the progress of this project by following this link: https://www.steamboat.com/media-center/gondola-construction-summer-2019

So how will this construction affect your summer travel plans to Steamboat? Well, it really won’t impact you much at all! Instead of using the gondola as a scenic lift or bike lift to the top of the mountain, you’ll use the Christie Peak Express. Once at the top, you’ll be able to enjoy the views of the Yampa Valley and explore the mountain on one of the mountain hiking or biking trails that Steamboat has ready for you.

If chair lifts and biking aren’t your forte, don’t worry – you can bring your family or your adventurous and young-spirited friends to enjoy some Land-Up activities. That includes; a mountain coaster, mini golf, a climbing wall, tubing, a ropes course, trampolines, and mini boats! (You can also mountain bike, hike and use the chairlift if you buy a full Land Up day pass!)

But we need to talk about mountain biking.  The Steamboat Bike Park is super fun and challenging for any level of expertise that you have. The bike park features an expansive 40-mile trail network that includes a wide array of lift assisted downhill only “flow” and “tech” trails. They also have multi-directional trails for those fitness-focused riders.

Regardless of what you would like to partake in this summer – Steamboat has you covered. You can even take a hot air balloon tour, or go rafting, maybe you’d like to dip into some hot springs and take a horseback ride!

Steamboat will be operating on a schedule that will change through the summer. A full look at the schedule is below.
