In just two days, Steamboat has opened 49 trails and more than 1,200 acres of skiing and riding terrain. Opening throughout the day Wednesday, Dec. 27, is the expert terrain off the top of Mount Werner, including the Chutes, Christmas Tree Bowl, North St. Pats, East Face, First Chance, Last Chance, Flying Z, Vertigo and Valley View. Rabbit Ears Terrain Park is expected to open Thursday, Dec. 28.
On Tuesday, Dec. 26, Sunshine, Bar-UE and South Peak lifts opened, providing access to Tomahawk, one of the resort’s most popular runs, in addition to 29 other trails. With the Sunshine and Sundown lifts open, First Tracks will return to this area for early-morning access.
The resort now boasts 127 trails on more than 2,000 acres and 14 lifts. The mountain operations team now will focus on opening the Pony Express area and work to get the resort 100 percent open as soon as possible. Find the most updated information on open lifts and trails at Steamboat.com/snow.
