Skiing Solo with Kids at SolVista

Skiing Solo with Kids at SolVista

My husband was out of town for the weekend and I decided to take the kids skiing by myself. I dont get a lot of time with them on my own and this seemed like a good way to get to know them again and make sure I still like them.
I thought of where to go and decided on SolVista Basin. SolVista is like a mini Colorado ski Disney. They know what kids like and they cater to them. They just make it too easy to visit. You can almost hear Its a Small World After All when you get out of the car.

Easy to get to: just past Winter Park on highway 40.

Easy to schlepp: drop off right in front of the base lodge, free parking close by.

Easy to navigate: all runs lead back to the base area, impossible to get lost.

Easy to lunch: really nice cafeteria options and plenty of room for brown baggers like us.

Easy to wear them out: piles of snow for climbing and exploring helps drain their energy.

Theres also a free tubing hill right next to the base lodge. I hauled the tubes up that thing a bazillion times while the kids slid down bumping into barriers and other tubes like a pinball.
But what sealed the deal was the easy smores apres: free fixins for apres ski smores by the fire pit.

Braedon and Georgia were so excited I thought their heads would explode.

We had a fun time and at the end of the day I decided they are turning out ok and was relieved we havent messed them up yet.
