With new snow across Colorado today, this remarkable 2013-14 season is still going strong. So strong, in fact, that six Colorado Ski Country USA member resorts have announced that they will extend their seasons into April and beyond. Below is a list of the resorts and details about their extended operations.
Aspen Mountain
Thanks to plentiful snowfall, Aspen Mountain will host skiing and riding on weekends April 26-27 and May 3-4. The mountain will open with as much terrain as conditions allow. Hours of operation will be 10:00am to 4:00pm. The Silver Queen Gondola, Ajax Express, FIS and Ruthies Chairs will spin and the Sundeck will fire up the grill on the deck. guests are invited to come out and celebrate a bountiful season.
Aspen/Snowmass has received more than 300 inches of snow this season and base depths are at their deepest of the season right now.
We figured since we opened early we might as well stay open late, said Rich Burkley, vice president mountain operations, Aspen Skiing Company. “Conditions are just too good not to go skiing.”
Lift ticket pricing has yet to be determined. All Aspen/Snowmass season passes are valid as they are during the regular season. Discounted extension pricing applies for Double Flex, Flex and Classic Passholders. Additional details and pricing will be announced later.
Copper Mountain Resort
Copper Mountain Resort Leadership announced yesterday that the 2013/2014 skiing and riding season will be extended for one additional weekend after the resort closes on Sunday, April 20. Copper Mountain will resume operations for one additional weekend on Friday, April 25 through Sunday, April 27. Copper Mountain Resort has received more than 320 inches of snow this season. With above average snowfall forecasted in April, Copper Mountain Resort invites guests to take advantage of the best skiing and riding in Colorado.
Copper Mountain Resort has exceeded its average seasonal snowfall with more than 26 feet of snow falling during the 2013/2014 winter season. Copper Mountain believes everyone deserves a Snow Day, with current conditions feeling like mid-winter, we didnt have the heart to close the book to an extraordinary season just yet, said Gary Rodgers, President and General Manager of Copper Mountain Resort.
Stay tuned for available terrain and lift schedules during Coppers extended weekend. Skier services including food and beverage offerings and rental and retail options will be limited to Center Village. All parking throughout Copper Mountain Resort will be complimentary during this time.
All Copper Mountain season pass products will be valid including Rocky Mountain Superpass and Superpass Plus, Four Packs with remaining days and Copper Mountain Season Passes. The Snow Day pass will be valid if 4 inches or more are reported, if no Snow Day is reported than Snow Day Passholders will be offered a $40 discounted day ticket. Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort
Purgatory is extending its season into April and will be open Friday through Sunday, April 4-6, 10am to 5pm. Lifts 1, 3 and 8 will operate Friday through Sunday with Lift 7 turning on Saturday and Sunday mornings only. Reduced lift tickets are available at the Ticket Office, adults are $59, and all passes are valid, including weekday passes.

Powderhorn Mountain Resort
Powderhorn Mountain Resort (PMR) is happy to announce the extension of the season with a bonus weekend of operations Saturday and Sunday, April 5th & 6th, 2014 from 10 AM to 5 PM.
The Take-Four Quad will operate from 10 AM to 5 PM both days, serving all ability levels. The Sunset Bar & Grille, Rental Department and Retail Department will open at 9 AM (Ski & Ride Center, Magic Carpet and Tubing Hill will be closed for the season).
We are excited to announce an additional weekend to enjoy the great conditions! With new snow forecasted this week, our skiers and snowboarders will be elated to hear about a weekend extension of the season, states Dave Smith, Powderhorns Marketing Manager. Sunlight Mountain Resort
Sunlight announces extended season for 2013-14 ski season! Closing day was scheduled for March 30, 2014, but due to the great snow conditions, Sunlight is able to re-open for an extra weekend during April 5 and 6. Lift tickets will be $40 on Saturday and Sunday. The mountain will not be in operation during the week of March 31-April 4, but Snowmobile Tours will still continue to operate as usual. Taking a Snowmobile Tour at Sunlight is a great opportunity to experience the beautiful valley with your friends or family. Guests can see Mt. Sopris and the entire Elk Mountain Range. The snowmobile tours offer two types of tours which include the adventure ride or the family tour.
On April 5 and 6, the Tercero and Primo lifts will be in operation and all services will be available except the Childrens Center. The Sunlight Ski & Bike Shops hours will remain the same as winter hours opening at 8am and closing at 7pm on Saturday and 8am-6pm on Sunday.

Winter Park Resort
Thanks to over 28 feet of total snow this season and more on the way throughout April, Winter Park Resort will extend its 2013/2014 ski and ride season an extra week, with closing day now scheduled for Sunday, April 27.
Winter Park Resort has received a total of 340.5 of snow, well ahead of average for this time of year and just 7 off the historical average for snowfall in an entire season. In March alone, over five feet of snow (61.5) fell at Winter Park, meaning conditions through the new closing date of April 27 promise to be superb.
Despite adding an extra week of operations, Winter Park Resort will still conduct its Springtopia celebration on the weekend of April 19-20, with free concerts by Big Head Todd and the Monsters and Dumpstaphunk as well as the always-anticipated Coca-Cola Spring Splash taking place on originally scheduled dates and times.
