Safety Sunday: The Ski Patrol’s Canine Companions

Thanks to the diligent work of the ski patrol, getting caught in an inbounds avalanche is exceptionally unlikely anywhere in Colorado Ski Country. However, if Mother Nature conspires against you and you get caught in a slide, there’s a good chance that a specially trained Ski Patrol doggy will dig you out, lick your face, and ply you with brandy.

Last season, Wolf Creek’s Patrol Director Eric Dietemeyer showed us this cool training session for Rico, one of their trusted rescue dogs.
