Safety Sunday: Ski Patroller Safety Tips

Dustin Schaefer, Loveland Ski Area

There’s nothing better than a fun day skiing on the mountain. This much is true. But, if you sunburn the shape of your goggles onto your face and look like a raccoon for the rest of the week, that’s not so fun.
If you carelessly let go of your snowboard while strapping in and watch it fly down the mountain, well, that’s not so fun either. And, if you have a collision with an unsuspecting victim and send them to the hospital, well, that would be a huge bummer.

The first on the mountain and the last to leave, our trusty ski patrollers have seen it all! With safety always at top of mind, they’ve got tons of tips and tricks to help you have a great day on the mountain. We asked ski patrollers across the state of Colorado to share their top safety tips. From the laws of the land to smart suggestions, here are a few words to the wise, so listen up! Better to be safe than sorry! 🙂
