POWDERHORN MOUNTAIN RESORT READIES FOR WINTER SEASON WITH LAUNCH OF NEW PROGRAMS

Powderhorn Mountain Resort Powderhorn Mountain Resort

Powderhorn Mountain Resort (PMR) is excited to announce the launch of season pass sales and new learn to ski and ride products, August 29 – 31, 2014, at the Epic Rides/Grand Junction Off-Road races.

This year, PMRs learn to ski and ride program has been changed to accommodate a wide variety of ages. For $149, any skier from ages five years old and up, will be allowed to take three full-day lessons – including a lift ticket and equipment rental, during any three days throughout the season. After completion of the program, the graduate of the program will be awarded a Graduate Card that allows 50% off any future group lessons, lift tickets and equipment rental for the remainder of the season. Snowboard lessons will be offered starting for ages seven years old and up, for the same price of $149 and includes the same graduate incentives.

Also this year, PMR has changed the school group learn to ski and ride program from Snowsports Learning Adventure Program (SLAP) to Powderhorn Adventure Snowsport Training (PHAST).

The PHAST program is offered to all schools on the Western Slope. PHAST is a learn to ski and ride program with mountain safety instruction included with the course.

The PHAST program includes a full-day group lesson for ski or snowboard, lift ticket, rental equipment, and helmet rental for $50. The PHAST program is for school groups of ten or more students, and information about PHAST can be obtained from the PMR website.

We are very excited about the coming winter. We have changed a lot of the programs and prices to encourage first time skiers and snowboarders to come up and give the sport a try, states Dave Smith, PMRs marketing manager. The updated learn to ski and ride program is a great gift to give family and friends for the upcoming holiday season. Weve also updated our mountain partnerships for our season pass holders, so pass holders can enjoy discounts at other resorts, but also with local businesses around town.

Full season pass holders, excluding Midweek season pass holders, can enjoy benefits from the following resorts:

  • Crested Butte Mountain Resort
  • Crested Butte Mountain Resort Lodging
  • Durango Mountain Resort
  • Monarch Mountain
  • Sunlight Mountain Resort
  • Eagle Point Resort, Utah
  • Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort, Nevada
  • Sipapu Resort, New Mexico
  • Pajarito Mountain, New Mexico

Pass holders also get the new added benefit of a one-time, 50% off group lesson voucher included with their season pass.

New mountain partnerships and local businesses will be added throughout the fall. For a full list of what benefits are included with a season pass, or additional information on PMRs learn to ski and ride programs, please visit their website, www.powderhorn.com.
