Powderhorn Will Open for the Season on Saturday, December 7

Powderhorn Mountain Resort is celebrating the holidays a little early this year, with the announcement of an early opening on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013. Powderhorn originally was scheduled to open for the 2013-2014 season on Dec. 12, 2013.

Powderhorn opens with four lifts operating and over 50% of terrain open and additional trails will open as conditions allow. Chairlifts will turn from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days per week starting on Saturday. The Sunset Grill and the new West End Grill and the Ski and Ride Center also will be open. The Tubing Hill opening will be announced in the coming weeks.

We are looking forward to a great start of the season with more snow in the forecast we are excited for a snowy ski season. Powderhorn recently announced a season pass pricing rollback to early season rates through December 10, 2013. The best value for skiers and riders who plan to log a lot of vertical this season, this years Powderhorn season pass includes resort discounts, deals from local partners and special ticket at other nearby resorts. As an added bonus, Powderhorn is offering a $25 Resort Credit with the purchase of a Powderhorn season pass and Resort Charge registration. Fall pass pricing and added value benefits are available until Dec. 10, 2013. Passes are available online or at the ski area.

The resort is offering a $99 Learn to Ski and Ride package for first-timers (ages eight and above), which is available beginning on opening weekend only. Shoppers can expect to find retail sales and specials throughout the weekend, as well.
