The snow kept falling over the weekend, January 23-24, at Purgatory Resort, with 25 inches of fresh snow rounding out the 48-hour total. Fresh tracks and powder stashes were plentiful, as were the smiles from skiers and snowboarders — and ski bikers that came out for the 18th annual Ski Bike Rally.

The recent storm also allowed the mountain operations team to open up additional trails, bringing the total amount of open terrain to 90%. Purgatory also reached over 100 inches of total snowfall for the season, with more snow in the forecast. According to OpenSnow, up to 10 inches of snow is expected to fall tonight, January 25, and tomorrow.

Thanks to the snowfall over the weekend, Purgatory Snowcat Adventures (PSA) is now accepting reservations, and will start operating this Saturday, January 30 — a week earlier than anticipated. PSA is the largest snowcat skiing operation in Colorado, accessing over 35,000 of backcountry terrain in the San Juan Mountains.

Lift tickets must be purchased online. Kids ages 10 and younger ski free with the Power Kids season pass.  For more information, visit our website at purgatory.ski.
