If you are the parent of a 5th or 6th grader, you need to know about this. It’s called First Class and it is a free ski or snowboard lesson for 5th graders who have never ever been skiing or snowboarding before. We’re really excited about First Class, it’s the first time we’ve offered it and we hope it will help get kids out on the slopes.
So here’s how it works, if you have a 5th grader, sign them up for the 5th Grade Passport. The Passport gives 5th
graders three free days of skiing or snowboarding at each of 21 resorts. So do the math, one kid can ski three days at 21 resorts, thats 63 days of skiing, for free.
Now, if your registered 5th Grade Passport holder is a complete beginner, meaning never ever been on skis or a snowboard, then they are eligible for a First Class lesson. It doesnt count if the child knows how to ski but not snowboard, they cant take a snowboard lesson, or vice versa. It doesnt work if the child knows how to snowboard but not how to ski, they cant take a ski lesson. They have to be completely new to both skiing and snowboarding.
One other thing, First Class lessons are only available during the month of January. Know why? Because January is Learn to Ski and Snowboard month. If your kid qualifies for a First Class lesson, then call us to reserve your lesson at any of the participating First Class resorts, there are 18 to choose from. You have to reserve the lesson in advance. Oh, and rental equipment is included, skis or snowboard, boots and poles. Isnt that nice of us?
OK, now the good news for 6th graders. For 6th graders, we have the 6th Grade Passport. This Passport gives 6th graders four days of skiing or snowboarding at 21 resorts, and only costs $99. Lets do some more math, four days at 21 resorts for $99, that comes out to less than $1.20 a day.
Lets recap. Were giving 5th graders a Passport of 63 free ski days, one free First Class beginner lesson and one day of free rental equipment. Were giving 6th graders a Passport of 84 ski days for less than a cup of coffee a day. The only thing we cant do is hold your hand while signing up, but were confident you can do it!
