One Good Re-Opening Deserves Another

Life in Ski Country is funny. It’s not exactly like a box of chocolates, but it definitely has its surprises. Take this morning for example, here in Denver, we woke up to fresh snow, and in the mountains, they’ve been getting accumulations all morning.

Another example, last weekend Wolf Creek was closed for the season, and today we’re proud to say that the resort just announced they will re-open this weekend, again! They already re-opened once earlier in April, but sometimes good snow just can’t keep a resort from running.

May 2 and 3, Wolf Creek will run the Nova, Bonanza and Treasure lifts from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The Alberta lift will be open pending conditions. Ski school and ski rentals will be available as usual and the Upper Lodge will serve a limited menu.

To return the good Karma from deciding to reopen, and to support a good cause, there will be a rail Jam on Nova lift at 1PM with registration starting at noon. Proceeds go to the Skate Board Park in Pagosa Springs. The registration form can be downloaded online at http://wolfcreekski.com/forms.asp.

Then on Saturday, guests can partake in some Aprs action on the upper deck with libations provided by San Luis Valley Brewery Co. Treasure Sports will have a big sale with merchandise available for up to 40% off.

And as is the custom at Wolf Creek to show love to the locals, lift tickets will be for sale at the locals’ appreciation rate of $31 for adults and $18 for seniors and kids. Season passes for 2009 will also be valid, even weekday only and employees.

Check the Colorado Ski Country USA snow report for the latest conditions at Wolf Creek and the other Colorado resorts open for skiing and riding; Arapahoe Basin, Loveland, and Echo Mountain. Here at Colorado Ski Country we’ll be anxiously waiting for the next surprise, could be another resort opening, or maybe a coffee maker that works.
