The New Year is off to a snowy start at Colorado Ski Country USA resorts, with several inches of fresh snow blanketing ski areas across the state over the first weekend of 2018.
Crested Butte Mountain Resort led the state with nearly a foot of fresh snow over the weekend, welcoming 11 inches of powder on Saturday evening into Sunday morning.
Snowmass and Aspen Highlands received 8 inches of light, fluffy snow, making for great powder day conditions on Sunday.
Telluride and Monarch each welcomed 7 inches of snow, while Steamboat, Sunlight and Winter Park received half a foot of snow each with 6 inches on the snow stake.
Five inches of snow fell near Front Range resorts including Loveland, Arapahoe Basin and Copper Mountain. Most resorts across the state received at least a few inches of snow over the weekend and weather forecasts are projecting more snow during the upcoming week.
