The following comes to us from Aaron Bible, writer for Elevation Outdoors.
Pass holders to the lesser knownand therefore less tracked outMonarch Mountain ski area have access to more vertical feet throughout the state and for that matter the world than anyone. Who would have known that such an unassuming locals ski area would be so worldly, with their season pass giving free ski days across two continents, four countries, and six statesall for under $450.

In total, 26 ski areas worldwide are participating in Monarchs innovative pass partner program. Nine ski areas in Colorado reciprocate the Monarch Mountain season pass for at least three days per season: Loveland, Durango, Telluride, Powderhorn, Sunlight, Sol Vista, Silverton, and Ski Cooper.
Six ski areas in New Mexico honor the pass. Alta, Utah, offers Monarch pass holders half-price tickets all season; and Grand Targhee, Wyoming, and Revelstoke, British Columbia, offer free skiing to Monarch pass holders. Resorts in California, Arizona, and Michigan also participate in the program. Across the pond, Monarch pass holders will find four ski areas in Germany and one in Austria offering discounts or free skiing.

One of my other favorite perks of this pass: you can bring a buddy every day of the season for only $43. The pass comes with a V.I.P. coupon book offering additional discounts such as coupons for the on-mountain retail shop, lessons, and lodging in nearby Salida, CO.
