The Little Nell Hotel Group is pleased to announce that its flagship Limelight Hotel, the Limelight Aspen, will undergo a renovation beginning this spring to debut in advance of the 2021/2022 winter season.  The Limelight Aspen will be closed for the transformative refresh and renovation.

The top-to-bottom renovation will enhance all of the hotel’s public spaces, including the Limelight Lounge, conference room, lobby, and bar, as well as all 126 guestrooms and suites, and their bathrooms.  Additionally, the renovation will also include some programming changes, introducing the Limelight’s standard Kids Club area and expanded dining seating. The renovation design, by Stonehill Taylor, a New York City-based luxury design firm, will inject the iconic, original Limelight property with a new level of vibrancy as well as high-quality furnishings and finishes.  The renovated product will complement the newest Limelight locations: Limelight Ketchum in Ketchum, Idaho and Limelight Snowmass, in Snowmass, Colo., which opened in 2016 and 2018, respectively.

“The renovation of our flagship Limelight property ushers in a new era for the brand,” says Alinio Azevedo, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, The Little Nell Hotel Group. “The completion of the Limelight Hotel Aspen renovation will set the new standard for the Limelight brand and align the design aesthetic with future Limelight Hotel developments.”

Stonehill Taylor’s approach of reinvigorating the spaces to be fresh, light and welcoming reinforces one Limelight brand pillar, which is to be the living room of the community.  Further, the design complements Aspen’s dynamic history as a place of innovation with reference to the discovery of silver, and the subsequent introduction of skiing, that put Aspen on the map. This inspiration manifests itself in graceful, layered textures and organic forms throughout the property. The artful treatment of natural material coupled with metallic accents and pops of bright color firmly grounds the design in a contemporary aesthetic. The neutral palette throughout the hotel mixed with earthy wood tones and lively accents is reminiscent of an active mountain lifestyle.

The Limelight Aspen renovation is helping to inform the design of the next Limelight Hotel, as The Little Nell Hotel Group is simultaneously working to develop a Limelight-branded hotel, residential, and private club property in Mammoth, Cali., on land it purchased in 2019.  When open, the property, which is at the base of Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort, will expand the Little Nell Hotel Group’s owned and managed portfolio.  Additional hotel projects in high-barrier-to-entry markets are in various stages of The Little Nell Hotel Group’s development pipeline to complement its existing owned and managed portfolio.
