There’s a nasty rumor going around about La Nina winters not being good for Colorado, but the truth is, La Nina winters are typically great for Colorado skiing. According to weather experts weve talked to, here’s why:

La Nina will bring more than the average number of storms from the north. That means well still get the southwest storms, while seeing a bump in northwest driven storms.

Most of the heavy snow storms will come during the months that people expect them such as December, January and February. And on top of that, March is typically Colorados snowiest month.

Usually a La Nina winter is colder than average, which means temperatures will keep snow conditions in good shape.

So hopefully this week will be a glimpse of what the season, and Mother Nature, has in store for us!
