Hesperus Ski Area – Scott DW Smith

The Hesperus lodge and snack bar, rental shop, and ski & ride school will be open.  The ski area will be open for night skiing and tubing this Friday from 4pm to 9pm, and lift tickets are $29 for adults. Holiday skiers and tubers will enjoy daily operations from Dec. 22 to Jan. 5 from 10am to 8pm.

“Between the night skiing and tubing area improvements made and the strong pre-season snowfall, our team is excited to kick off the ski season” stated Sam Williams, general manager. “Hesperus offers something for everyone including locals wanting to ski after work and an affordable ski experience for families living in the region.”

New This Year! Skiers will enjoy an enhanced night skiing experience thanks to the additional lights that were installed this summer.  The tubing hill was moved from the western side of the property to the eastern side on Marmot Hill. Families and those young at heart will notice new, groomed tubing lanes and the perfect pitch to slide down the snow. Hesperus’ ski and snowboard rental fleet was upgraded for the 2019/2020 season.

Sno-Kat Kidz – this favorite Hesperus program is back! For $99 (for lessons & rentals or lessons & lift tickets), receive six weeks of after school ski or snowboard classes for kids. Program begins on January 27, 2020. Check the Ski-Hesperus.com website for more details.

FREE Lessons for Never Evers –Hesperus offers first-timers up to three FREE lessons with the purchase of one full-day, full-price lift ticket for $39. This offer is available every day. Advance reservations required.

Regular lift hours are Monday, 4p to 9pm, Thursday and Friday, 4pm to 9pm; Saturday, 10am to 9pm, and Sunday, 10am to 5pm. Hesperus is scheduled to be open through March 15, conditions permitting.

Hesperus is reporting a 22” base and, starting Friday, all 26 trails will be open. Lift tickets are $39 for adults, $33 for teens (ages 13-20) and seniors (ages 60-69), and $28 for kids (ages 8-12). Tubing is $10 per person, additional riders are $5. Kids under ten years old and those who are 70 and better ski free every day. Hesperus is part of Colorado Ski Country USA and participates in its Gems program, and  5th and 6th grade passport program that provides access to Ski Country’s member resorts.
