Skiers and riders can take advantage of several new transportation options to and from Colorado’s ski areas including new direct flights to and from Colorado’s eight regional airports, expanded service and convenience on the Winter Park Express, new carpool options and ski bus services. These options provide travelers from across the country with easy and convenient travel options to get to their favorite Colorado ski areas and provide expert and first-time skiers and riders alike a stress-free journey to their first days on the slopes.

Flights - New in Dallas, Newark, Boston, Ft. Lauderdale, Long Beach and Denver

Colorado’s eight regional airports will offer new and expanded flights for the 2018-19 season. A new commercial airline is coming to Telluride, as Boutique Air will offer year-round service from Denver International Airport (DEN) to Telluride Regional Airport (TEX), located just 10 minutes from town and the ski resort. The schedule features multiple daily round trips starting at $149 each way. Telluride will also add twice daily nonstop flights from Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) to Montrose-Telluride (MTJ) through American Airlines, which will operate up to three times a day during the holiday period. Telluride will also feature daily nonstop flights during the ski season from Newark International Airport (EWR) to Montrose-Telluride (MTJ) through United Airlines.

Steamboat Resort’s regional airport, Steamboat/Hayden (HDN) airport, will add year-round direct flights to Boston, Ft. Lauderdale and Long Beach, California, with JetBlue. Beginning in winter 2018, JetBlue’s nonstop service from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Long Beach Airport (LGB) will operate twice a week, while the Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) flight will operate once a week from Dec. 15 through March 30. The new JetBlue service marks 10 nonstop markets Steamboat has added in the past seven years.

Train

For a third consecutive season, the Amtrak Winter Park Express will transport passengers from downtown Denver’s Union Station to the slopes of Winter Park Resort. New for the 2018-19 season, the Winter Park Express will offer additional Fridays in the January-March operating schedule, plus a brand-new lounge car for food and beverage purchases. The Amtrak Winter Park Express offers travelers to the Denver International Airport (DEN) the option to travel to a renowned Colorado ski resort without renting or setting foot in a car.

Bus

New ground transportation options will also ease travel to Colorado ski resorts. The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will expand its statewide Bustang motor coach service to include Salida, the town nearest Monarch Ski Area. With this expansion, Bustang now serves mountain towns near several Colorado ski areas including Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, Copper Mountain, Echo Mountain, Monarch Mountain, Purgatory Resort, Sunlight Mountain Resort and Telluride Ski Resort. Additional ground transportation options include other Front Range bus services and rideshare or carpool options.
