Five Reasons Super Bowl Sunday is One of the Best Days to Ski and Ride in Colorado

Purgatory Resort Purgatory Resort

Super Bowl Sunday is a very under-rated day to get on the slopes in Colorado. Less traffic on the roads, shorter lift lines, and you can ski an entire day because kickoff is after the lifts close. If that’s not reason enough to take some turns sporting your favorite team’s colors (Bronco Orange strongly preferred), five Colorado Ski Country USA member resorts are even offering discounted lift tickets and special festivities.

1. Copper Mountain
Lift Ticket Deal for the Big Game, February 7
In celebration of the big game, Copper is offering $50 lift tickets for all adults, children and seniors for one day only on Sunday, February 7. These tickets can be purchased online at CopperColorado.com or at any ticket window on the resort day-of.

2. Crested Butte
Big Game Sunday Parties
After a great day on the slopes, join Crested Butte for Super Bowl parties all around the resort. Butte 66 carries on their annual tradition with wings, slider specials and drink specials. Plus with all the TVs there is no bad spot in the house. Or head over to WoodStone Grille for wingspecials, build-your-own calzone, Jell-O shots, 3 for $6or 5 for $10 and $4 craft pints all night! Game kick off is at 4:25 p.m; for more information visit www.skicb.com.

$50 Lift Ticket for Big Game Sunday
Crested Butte Mountain Resort is celebrating the Denver Broncos making it to the Big Game 50 with $50 single day adult lift tickets on Sunday, February 7, 2016. Purgatory Resort in Durango is offering $50 lift tickets for Sunday, Feb. 7 to celebrate Purgatorys 50th Anniversary and Super Bowl 50. Guests who wear their favorite teams colors on the slopes can meet at noon for a color parade — riding the lift up and ski back down to the base showcasing their team spirit. Participating guests can win prizes including Trimble Hot Springs Spa packages. After a great day on the mountain, guests can watch the game on any of the big screens at the resorts bars and restaurants in the base area, featuring great prizes and food and drink specials.
