Exciting news from Eldora today as the resortannounced three (3) new black diamond ski runs. All three runs will be open and ready to enjoy this coming ski and snowboard season.
Thanks to United States Forest Service (USFS) approvals, Eldora has been ablemove forward with these long anticipated improvements to Denver’s closest ski area.We appreciate what the USFS has done for our Eldora guests,” says Marketing & Skier Services Director JP Chevalier. Its been a long time since we have been able to announce new improvements for our loyal regional customers and destination visitors. This first step is exciting for us and pending further processes, we will have more great news to share in the near future, says Chevalier.
The threenew trails are located in between the popular Corona and Indian Peaks Chairlifts, off the north side skiers left, as you ski down the Way Back trail. The 1st trail, being the steepest, will be called Wolf Tongue. The 2nd and longest, is named Alpen Horn, with a steep pitch and counter kick at the end. Our 3rd addition, called Red Tail starts off as an intermediate blue run before diving down an advanced pitch, on to Mule Shoe.
These beautiful north side trails will range from 2,608 to 1,300 feet in length and add 15 new skiable acres, with gorgeous views toward the Continental Divide & Indian Peaks Wilderness.
The new trails are designed to hold a sensational 300+ inches of natural snow fall but will be backed up with 100% snowmaking coverage, to expand the most comprehensive snowmaking system in Colorado.
