Are you hungry for adventure this summer? Hiking, biking, paddling and exploring Colorado’s ski resorts can work up quite an appetite. Luckily, our member resorts can satisfy your cravings with dozens of delicious on-mountain restaurants and foodie festivals serving up delightful dishes all summer. 

 

On-Mountain Eateries

Arapahoe Basin

Arapahoe Basin Ski Area will offer on-mountain dining this summer at the 6th Alley Bar & Grill Friday-Monday and outdoor BBQ at the Black Mountain Lodge Saturday & Sunday. A-Basin will serve a special summer menu including specialty cocktails and summer-inspired dishes. Don’t miss out on the world-famous Bacon Bloody Mary. 

Aspen Snowmass

Aspen Snowmass will serve summer fare from the Sun Deck restaurant, Ajax Tavern and Elk Camp restaurant. Sundeck, atop the Aspen Mountain Gondola, is one of the best on-mountain bars and restaurants in town. After your 15-minute gondola ride, enjoy healthy, made-to-order stir-fry dishes from the wok station, fresh and inventive soups, pizzas, unique salads and delicious sandwiches. You can also indulge in beer, wine or something from the full-service bar, either out on the deck or in front of the massive Sundeck windows overlooking Highlands Bowl and the Elk Mountains.

Cooper

Cooper will celebrate the summer season with two Fridays on the Mountain dinner events including delicious chef-prepared fare and live music. On Friday, July 20 Cooper will host guests for a steak dinner and live blues music. On Friday, August 3 Cooper will pair seafood with jazz music.

Copper Mountain

Brand new this summer, Downhill Duke’s is the newest base-area eatery at Copper Mountain. With a south-facing patio, enjoy lunch in the afternoon sunshine over shared plates and live music. Downhill Duke’s features a locally-sourced menu, live music, dog-friendly items and a special patio area where your furry friend can put up their paws.

Crested Butte

For on-mountain dining at Crested Butte, head for The Umbrella Bar at Ten Peaks, which offers some of the most amazing panoramic views in the valley. The Umbrella Bar has plenty of food options to keep the whole family happy including sandwiches, salads, snacks and specialty cocktails, beer and wine. It also features glass walls, a 35-foot diameter retractable umbrella roof and requires guests to bike, hike or drive to the on-mountain destination.

Granby Ranch

Experience the casual elegance of the Granby Ranch Grill, located at the base of Granby Ranch Ski Area in beautiful Granby, Colorado. Comfortable for the entire family with a casual dining area, slopeside patio and a large beautiful outdoor fire pit. Our menu features artisanal pizzas, exquisite small plates and salads, gluten free options, and uniquely composed and delicious entrees.

Powderhorn

Powderhorn will serve summer dishes from the Sunset Grill, open Saturdays and Sundays all summer. A modern take on the American Café dining style, the Sunset Grill offers delicious mountain-smoked meats, coconut infused rice bowls, mouth-watering burgers and a “Big Kids” grilled cheese sandwich. Grab a beer or handcrafted cocktail from the bar and head out to the deck to enjoy the views and the sun.

Purgatory Resort

Purgatory Resort features a variety of cuisine at four restaurants and bars in the Village area.  From delicious breakfast options to lunch and dinner menus of locally-sourced burgers, fresh salads, sandwiches, pizza, as well as steaks, fish and more. On-mountain restaurants open this summer include: Purgy’s Slopeside, Bear Bar & Grille, Paradise Pizza & Ice Creamery, Village Market & Deli. The Bear Bar & Grille offers a prime spot on the patio for enjoying the San Juan Mountains and a refreshing beverage.

Steamboat Resort

Steamboat’s on-mountain food and drink options will include Gondola Joe’s, the Taco Beast, Oasis Sundeck and Bear River BBQ. Stop into Gondola Joe’s for your morning pastry, lunch for the trail and a convenient fuel-up. Catch the Taco Beast snowcat mountain food truck for a variety or trail tacos, esquites and Mexican-style beer. Stop by the Oasis Sundeck to enjoy a number of tasty bites from the grill, such as the Prime Rib Philly Sandwich, or try popular Mother Earth salad while you take in the sweeping views of the Yampa Valley. Steamboat’s summer dining options offer something for everyone.

Telluride Ski Resort

Open all summer and located at the mid-station of the free Telluride-Mountain Village Gondola, Allred’s is Telluride’s most iconic on-mountain restaurant. Enjoy contemporary American Cuisine and one of the best wine selections in the country with stunning views overlooking town and the surrounding San Juan Mountains. Other Mountain Village restaurants options include: Tomboy Tavern, Black Iron Grill, Altezza at The Peaks, Village Table, Poacher’s Pub, Tracks, La Piazza, Telluride Coffee Company, and Crazy Elk Pizza. Tomboy Tavern is the Mountain Village hot spot for drinks in the summer, with barrel-aged negroni and craft cocktails.

Winter Park Resort

Winter Park’s on-mountain summer dining will take place at The Lodge at Sunspot. For cocktails, Winter’s Parks favorite watering hole Derailer Bar will offer beers and food out on the Derailer Deck right at the base of the mountain. Serving up classic summertime grilled favorites like hot dogs and burgers (or veggie burgers), the Derailer’s summer food menu is perfectly paired with their fresh squeezed lemonade or cocktails.

 

Food and Drink Festivals

Attack of the Big Beers – June 23-24 – Copper Mountain

On June 23 and 24, the 2nd Annual Attack of the Big Beers festival at Copper Mountain will include “big beers,” or those brewed with high original gravity. Many other brews from Colorado and beyond will be available for sampling. Brewers will also be competing for the Brewzilla Cup: the award for the biggest, baddest beer of the festival. Guests can also enjoy free live music.

Telluride Wine Festival – June 28-July 1 – Telluride Ski Resort

For 36 years, the Telluride Wine Festival has celebrated of the best in food, wine, and epicurean indulgences. Over the course of four days, guests are invited to experience luncheons and dining delights hosted by local restaurants, tastings and seminars by some of the world’s most revered chefs, and sample wines and spirits from across the globe.

Mac & Cheese Fest – July 28-29 – Copper Mountain

Come and enjoy indulgent, crafty, cheesy dishes as our chefs deliver the yummiest most creative concoctions. If sampling is not enough, test your tummy at the eating competition. Kids can partake in an afternoon of free fun-filled activities and entertainment. Boogie down to live music as you wrap up the perfect day.

Copper Crush Wine Fest – August 17-19 – Copper Mountain

Do you proudly have boxed wine next to staples like milk in your fridge? Is your wine budget $15 or less a bottle? Are you a wine fest virgin? This event is designed to take the “frou frou” out of a wine festival. Come in your jeans, get ready to stomp grapes and enjoy events like a Candy Bar and Wine Pairing, Sampling of wines retailing at approachable pricing, enjoy crazy good music and more.

Cider Circus – August 24-25 – Copper Mountain

The Cider Circus brings a unique element to a cider and beer tasting event. An aerialist show, amazing entertainers, and circus fair add an extra element to our Friday pairings, VIP Samplings, and Grand Tasting. Join us Friday evening or Saturday afternoon for what’s sure to be an event to remember.

Gears & Beers – August 25 – Powderhorn Resort

The 3rd Annual Gears & Beers Festival will feature tons of breweries, bike shops, live music, giveaways, and scenic lift rides. A favorite amongst locals, guests will enjoy a day of downhill mountain biking and beers on the Powderhorn Deck.

Telluride Blues and Brews Festival – September 14-16 – Telluride Ski Resort

Telluride’s most popular event. Blues & Brews is a three-day celebration of blues, funk, jam bands, indie, rock, gospel and soul performances —accompanied by some of the best craft breweries in the country, a wide variety of food and craft vendors, children’s activities, late night shows and more.
