Warm Up by the Fire with a Hot Cider at the Umbrella Bar at Ten Peaks

To celebrate the start of the 2016-2017 winter season and the oncoming increase in daylight, Crested Butte Mountain Resort will play host to the Winter Solstice Aprs Party on Wednesday, December 21. The party will take place on the mountain at the Umbrella Bar at Ten Peaks. The Winter Solstice Party brings family and friends together in an intimate but social setting, while highlighting the surrounding peaks under the evening sky.

To participate, guests can catch the last chair or hike up at 4 p.m. to the Umbrella Bar at the top of the Painter Boy Lift. Upon arrival guests can warm up inside or around the fire pit. Enjoy celebrating the winter season with a spiked cider made with local Montanya Oro rum, as well as charcuterie, appetizers, live music and smores fixings by the fire. Additional beverages will be available for purchase.

Guests should come prepared for the elementswith layers and a headlamp for the ski back down the mountain; as the party will go from 4 7 p.m. Event tickets are for sale at the Adventure Center in advance for $20, or online at www.skicb.com/events.

The Umbrella Bar at Ten Peaks features glass walls, a 35-foot diameter retractable umbrella roof and seating for 75 people. The destination bar and restaurant officially opened last winter and has been a big hit with locals and guests.

Now that we have created a unique place at this premier spot on the mountain, explains Larry Pirner, director of culinary operations at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. We invite guests to come and enjoy some mountain hospitality, under moonlit skies, and some great hand-crafted food to celebrate our favorite season in Crested Butte.
