Sadly, the end is in sight. There is less than two weeks left in the 2008-09 Colorado Ski Country USA ski season and as is usually the case, the last resort standing is Arapahoe Basin. This year the resort will go out in style with the 8th Annual Festival of the Brew Pubs where the theme is always tasty turns and tasty beer.
To officially close out the season, Colorado Ski Country USA always hosts the Annual Meeting. This is the 46th year for the Colorado ski industry event and it is taking place in Boulder, home town of Eldora Mountain Resort, on June 10-11 under the theme of Navigating the Bumps. With less than a month to go the agenda is shaping up to be,well, dare we say, epic.
Folsom Field Stadium will be the site of the Colorado Ski Country USA 46th Annual Meeting
Perino will give the keynote address at Colorado Ski Country USA
The keynote speaker is Dana Perino, former White House press secretary under President George Bush. She’s known as a real ‘cool cat’ and will be speaking to the group about communicating from the ‘hot seat’. We’ve also lined up Mountain Sports Media group publisher Mike Federle, Colorado University economist Richard Wobbekind, and an Academy worthy season-in-review video all before lunch.
Then for the first time in Colorado Ski Country USA history, we’re bringing together six of the seven former presidents of Colorado Ski Country USA. We’re going to put them on a panel and let ski industry veteran Jerry Blann have at ’em. More than 30 years of Colorado Ski Country USA leadership will be in one place to share insights, experiences, learnings, and musings of the evolution of the ski industry’s greatest trade association.
Room 214 Co-founder James Clark will speak at Colorado Ski Country USA
In the afternoon we’ll get social with Room 214 co-founder James Clark, a social media marketing and consulting expert.
Clark will give the group examples of companies who are social media connoisseurs, klutzes and just down right clueless.
We’ve peppered in some awards, business updates and of course we will announce the 2008-09 final skier visit numbers.
We still have a lot to do between now and June 11 but the countdowns have begun. We’re counting down ’till the end of this season, ’till the 46th Annual Meeting, and ’till Nadia’s das boot kicks into high gear. Then a different count down begins days ’till snowmaking.
