As the winter season comes to a close the tradition of celebrating spring skiing and riding continues with Sunsation at Copper Mountain. The two-day festival includes live music, off-the-wall competitions and plenty of great conditions and sunshine to go around.

The annual spring celebration kicks off at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 13 with Red Bull SlopeSoakers. This one-of-a-kind competition puts a spin on the traditional spring pond skim by placing rails over water and challenges all who dare to cross. Competitors will be battling for titles such as Best Overall Performance, Best Costume and Best Crash. This event is free for all to enter, pre-register online here. Embrace the spring sunshine with free live music at 1:30 p.m. with The Spazmatics, the ultimate high-energy new wave 80s band from Houston, TX. Stick around as the indie dance duo out of Brooklyn Matt & Kim takes the stage at 4 p.m. Both shows are free and open to the public in Burning Stones Plaza in Center Village.
The competition heats up on Sunday, April 14, Copper Mountains closing day, with the 2nd Annual CopperMan Winter Adventure Race. This Copper-rized 3K running race takes competitors through a variety of unique obstacles including the hot chocolate pit, the king of the mountain and tube crawl. The race kicks off at 11 a.m., costumes are highly encouraged so dress to impress. Pre-registration is available online for $25 and day-of for $30. Competitors are welcomed by a grand finish line celebration in Burning Stone Plaza in Center Village including live music by Domestic Problems, rock-folk group from Grand Rapids, MI; at 1 p.m. and headliner Ozomatli at 3 p.m. with their notorious collision of hip hop and salsa music.
