Make your way back home to Copper Mountain for Opening Day on Friday, Nov. 10. The first official chair of the 2017/2018 season will spin at 9 a.m. on the American Eagle chairlift, but the entire weekend is jam-packed with “Raised on Colorado” giveaways, music and more. Take those first turns of the season and celebrate winter with Copper’s Welcome Home Weekend.

Welcome Home Weekend festivities start at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 10 with the First Chair Celebration. Guests have the chance to win first chair of the season at REI’s Pray for Snow event in Denver on Thursday, Nov. 9. The first 50 in line on Friday will also be welcomed with a free YETI Rambler, donuts, surprise giveaways and music from DJ Landry. Warm up at the new breakfast spot in Center Village as Toast & Co. debuts its Colorado Proud menu with favorites such as caramelized pineapple pancakes, chorizo torta and creative renditions of eggs benedict.

On Saturday, Nov. 11, Burning Stones Plaza will be buzzing with music, breakfast burritos and a Bloody Mary bar. The first 50 in line at the American Eagle lift will be given a Copper tote bag. In the afternoon, the Copper Après scene will feature Boulder-based Gasoline Lollipops taking the stage at 12:30, drink specials and a photo booth.

Check out all the Woodward Barn has to offer at the Woodward Barn Bash from noon – 8 p.m. Free Intro and Drop-In Sessions will be available, along with live music, and appearances from pro athletes such as Taylor Bingaman, Torstein Horgmo and Cam Fitzpatrick. Premieres of this season’s latest ski and snowboard films are set to kick off after 6 p.m. and will feature ShredBots “R3BOOT,” Arbor Snowboards “Costa Nostra,” and Faction Skis “This is Home.”

Throughout the weekend, the “Lucky Lap” giveaway encourages guests to lap the American Eagle with prizes at the top. Betty the Yeti will be giving away restaurant vouchers, free parking, wax and tune certificates, merchandise and more.
