With 6 inches of fresh snow in the last 24 hours, winter has officially arrived at Copper Mountain. Skiers and snowboarders celebrated the start of the 2016/17 season today with the American Eagle chairlift opening to the public at 9 a.m. Open terrain includes Rhapsody and Main Vein via the American Eagle lift, as well as Ptarmigan via the Excelerator lift.
In conjunction with Opening Day, Copper is welcoming its passholders and guests back in style with Welcome Home Weekend, Nov. 18 – 20. This event includes three days of free live music, food, drinks and games for all ages in Aprs Alley. Aprs Alley is a new area located in Coppers Center Village that is set to include giant shuffleboard, ping-pong tables and various other games all season long.
On Saturday, Nov. 19, Olympic gold medalist Ted Ligety and other members of the U.S. Ski Team will set the pace for NASTAR courses around the nation at Coppers NASTAR Pacesetting event. Check out the action on hill then get up close and personal with the U.S. Ski Team at a meet-and-greet session at JJs Rocky Mountain Tavern beginning at 4 p.m. A full schedule is available at CopperColorado.com.
