A fast-moving band of storms covered Colorados high country in fresh snow last night, delivering powder skiing and snowboarding conditions to Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA) resorts and their guests. Overnight, CSCUSA resorts recorded an average of 7 inches of new snow and two resorts welcomed a foot or more of fresh powder, the perfect treat for families enjoying spring break in Colorados high country.

Resorts in the southwest of Colorado fared particularly well, as skiers and riders at Crested Butte celebrated 14 inches of new snow. Silverton recorded 12 inches of powder, Monarch saw 10 inches, Wolf Creek and Telluride each measured 9 inches, and Durango Mountain Resort saw 7 inches.

The Aspen/Snowmass resorts welcomed a blanket of fresh powder, as Snowmass recorded 9 inches of new snow, Aspen Highlands and Aspen Mountain each measured 7 inches of new snow, and Buttermilk saw 6 inches.

Along the Interstate 70 corridor, Loveland saw 8 inches of new snow, Ski Cooper received 7 inches, Arapahoe Basin and Sunlight each measured 6 inches, and Copper Mountain and Powderhorn saw 5 inches.

Further north, Winter Park received 3.5 inches of powder, Steamboat and Eldora each welcomed 3 inches, and Ski Granby Ranch recorded 1 inch of new snow.

Spring skiing is in full force across Colorado Ski Country with sunny skies and great snow conditions. Strong base snow depths and more snow in the forecast bode well for skiers and snowboarders through March and into April.

Knowing how to ski safely in spring conditions is essential to having a fun day out in the powder. Visit http://www.coloradoski.com/page/ski-safety for helpful tips and to learn Your Responsibility Code, the list of best practices to ensure your safety on the mountain.
