Aspen Snowmass launches summer operations Memorial Day Weekend May 26-28 with the Silver Queen Gondola at Aspen Mountain running from 10 a.m.-4 p.m with the last ride down at 4:30 p.m. Daily operations on Aspen Mountain will officially kick-off Jun. 16, and at Snowmass, daily operations will commence Jun. 22.
Aspen Mountain begins weekend summer operations on the Silver Queen Gondola Memorial Day Weekend May 26-28 as well as the weekends of Jun. 2-3 and 9-10. Daily summer operations will officially kick-off Jun. 16 and run until Sept. 3 with operations continuing on weekends through Oct 7. Silver Queen Gondola operating hours will be 10 a.m.-4 p.m. with the last ride down at 4:30 p.m.
Snowmass summer operations on both the Elk Camp Gondola and Elk Camp Chairlift will take place daily Jun. 22 – Sept. 3 and then continue weekends through Sept. Elk Camp Gondola operating hours will be 10 a.m.-4 p.m. with the last ride down at 4:15 p.m., and the Elk Camp chairlift will operate from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. with the last ride down at 3:15 p.m.
The Lost Forest is a new on-mountain activity center at the top of the Elk Camp Gondola in Snowmass, featuring the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster, which opened in Dec. 2017 and features a 5,700 foot track that winds through the trees at speeds of up to 28 miles per hour; the Canopy Run Zipline Tour, a three hour experience featuring eight ziplines and three skybridges; and the Treeline Trail Challenge Course, which includes five paths (ranging from beginner, medium, and difficult) up to 40 feet in the air. The Lost Forest opens on Jun. 22, 2018. The new Rugged Ascent Climbing Wall, 40 feet tall with 14 auto belays and up to 50 routes designed by Eldorado Climbing Walls out of Boulder, adds to the fun in late Aug. 2018. The Lost Forest will operate daily from 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
Elk Camp restaurant, located mid-mountain on Snowmass, will continue Farm to Table Dinners on Tuesday evenings for the third year in a row. Due to popularity, the dinners will include an expanded schedule that kicks-off Tuesday, Jul. 10 and runs every Tuesday until Aug. 21. The culinary experience includes a free ride up the Elk Camp gondola to the restaurant where guests can enjoy locally-sourced ingredients in a farm-to-table inspired à la carte dinner format with full cash bar, outdoor family activities and live music. The Lost Forest will remain open Tuesday evenings with access to activities and bike trails until dusk.
Back for the third year in a row, in conjunction with Aspen Center for Environmental Studies (ACES) and the Aspen Science Center, Stars Above Aspen is a community astronomy night that will take place Aug.13 on top of Aspen Mountain. After a ride up the Silver Queen Gondola, guests will have the opportunity to gaze through telescopes, learn about the constellations and enjoy presentations from scientists. The evening will also include dinner options at the Sundeck restaurant and family-friendly entertainment.
