Aspen Skiing Company’s Caring for Community Fund and the Limelight Hotels invite runners, walkers, families, and their dogs to a morning of exercise and fun at the Caring for Community 10K, Family & Dog 1 Mile Fun Run, and finish line party.
Taking place Saturday, Sept. 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the event (formerly known as the Town to Trail Race) showcases a unique route on various trails, bike paths, and sidewalks around Aspen. The one-mile Family & Dog Fun Run is for those who want to participate but prefer a shorter route.
Hosted by the Limelight Hotels, a post-race finish line party located on Monarch & Cooper will serve up beers, BBQ and lawn games. The party will also include booths from community-serving local nonprofits providing information about their services. DJ Naka G will enliven the whole scene with his X Games- and Olympics-caliber beats.
The entirety of the event’s costs are being donated by the Limelight Hotels and Aspen Skiing Company’s events team. All proceeds from entry fees will benefit the Caring for Community fund. Managed by Aspen Skiing Company employees and funded by employee donations and a double company match, Caring for Community is dedicated to serving communities from Aspen to Parachute through the funding of organizations that help facilitate a strong, healthy, supportive, and productive community. In 2018, more than $150,000 in grants went to thirteen Roaring Fork Valley organizations, including RESPONSE, the Aspen Hope Center, Aspen Strong, and A Way Out.

–10K Race and Family & Dog 1 Mile Fun Run begin at 9 a.m. in front of the Limelight Hotel Aspen
–The finish line party is open to the public from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Cost:
–10K Race: $40 per racer donation to Caring for Community. Fee includes a participation medal, Helly Hansen t-shirt, and free food and beverages at the finish line party.
–1 Mile Family & Dog Fun Run: $40 per family donation to Caring for Community. Fee includes a participation medal, Helly Hansen t-shirt, and free food and beverages at the finish line party.
–For non-race attendees, the BBQ and beverages are available for cash purchase.

A registration link is live at www.aspensnowmass.com/10K. In-person registration is Friday, Sept. 20 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Limelight Hotel in Aspen. Race-day registration takes place from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Limelight for an additional $10 fee.
