A good excuse to ski

Winter Park photo by Brad Torhia

Many people use skiing as an outlet for different things; connecting with nature, hanging out with friends, pushing the limits of athleticism. But for one weekend a year, a group of Karma-building-ski-fanatic-do-gooders use skiing as a way to give back to their community by participating in the Invest In Kids Jane-A-Thon fundraiser at Winter Park.

Now hold up. Before you click away, this is not your ordinary fundraiser. There is no silent auction with unaffordable trips and pointless regifted swag. There is no awkward live auctioneer with a mic right in your face pressuring you to open your wallet. This is the easiest, most mellow, participatory fundraiser you can imagine.

In a nutshell, all you have to do is come ride the bumps, slide on snow, bring your friends and raise some dough. This will be the 13th Annual Jane-a-Thon, a ski-a-thon fundraiser held annually at Mary Jane in Winter Park. Participants raise money to bring Invest in Kids proven programs to communities across Colorado.Participants collect pledges per run/vertical feet completed and enjoy a great day of fun and fundraising on the slopes.

Friday, March 9th is Corporate Team Day and Saturday, March 10th is Friends and Family Day (children included!).In addition to skiing and riding, each day features an aprs ski party where team and individual prizes are awarded for fundraising, vertical feet, and fastest speed.
