DENVER – January 18, 2019 – In advance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend, Colorado’s high country has been blanketed in deep layers of fresh snow. Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA) member resorts have reported as much as 31 inches of powder with snow continuing Friday and Friday night heading into the long weekend.

The southwestern region of Colorado is leading the state, with Silverton Mountain recording 31 inches on the snow stake in the last 72 hours. Purgatory Resort also saw steep snow totals, with 26 total inches from this storm including 14 inches overnight. Wolf Creek has seen two feet of snowfall in the last three days, while Telluride Ski Resort has received 18 inches of snow.

Elsewhere in the state, Steamboat has collected 21 inches of snow in the last 72 hours, with several more inches in the immediate forecast. In central Colorado, Aspen Highlands leads with 18 inches of fresh powder, while Monarch Mountain and Powderhorn Resort each saw a foot of snow. Cooper, Hesperus and Sunlight Mountain Resort have each been blanketed with 10 inches of snowfall in three days.

Snowfall is expected to continue across Colorado in the lead-up to the holiday weekend, creating excellent skiing and riding conditions for guests looking to take advantage of the long weekend.
