Monarch Mountain will begin its 72nd ski season on Thursday December 8, 2011. This weekends storm left behind 19 inches of new snow and Monarch is now reporting a 22 inch mid-mountain base depth. Monarch will open 20 runs on Thursday served by the Pioneer, Tumbelina and the new Caterpillar lifts. The area will have crews out this week to work on getting more terrain open for the weekend.
Coincidence? Monarch’s best season 2008-09 also started on December 8th.
All services will be in operation; food service, ski and ride school, rentals, child care and retail will all be ready for guests.
